I still can’t believe how magical this engagement session was with Janelle and James! For their session, we went to a spot in Sonoma that they requested because it has a lot of history and meaning for them. They spent a lot of time at Scribe winery when they were dating and it became an even more special spot for them when James got down on one knee and proposed to Janelle there. It made it so much more meaningful to photograph the two of them there knowing that they had a history with that location and that it meant so much to them.
The winery was absolutely gorgeous the day we went up there for their engagement session with gorgeous golden hills surrounding the lush and green vineyards. Normally, wineries in Sonoma and Napa don’t allow photography but we were able to get special permission this time and I’m so glad we did- it was the perfect spot for their engagement session! There were so many spots that are a photographer’s dream to shoot at like the grassy knoll, the olive garden, the Hacienda and the main drive that is lined with palm trees.
For the second half of their session, we went to downtown Sonoma during Golden Hour. As the sun went down, we did their portraits in the rose garden near the historic city hall. Engagement sessions always have a special spot in my heart because I love getting a chance to know my couples a little better. The engagement session with James and Janelle was a dream come true because it was such a fun session. I loved getting to know more about them. They were so sweet together and loved to laugh with one another. They also both were naturals at doing a model look and even had me laughing the whole time. I loved these two and I am even more excited for their wedding in August!
