Easter Sunday was extra special this year at this backyard proposal. Joe popped the question under an arch of red flowers to his girlfriend, Laura. It was such a sweet moment between the two of them. There was something magical about the proposal in the sunshine and the flowers. I loved being able to photograph such a lovely moment in their story and it was extra special because Joe is a family friend!
Since Joe & Laura were coming to visit Joe’s parents for the holiday, his sister and I helped him decorate and set up the backyard so that he could surprise Laura. A few days before the proposal, we dashed around town picking up vines and flowers and then decorated the arch before Joe and Laura arrived for the weekend.
For the proposal, Joe wanted to get carnations because those are Laura’s favorite flowers. He also wanted pictures of their adventures together. When he proposed, she was completely surprised! They then spent the rest of the day celebrating with family and their many dogs! I’m so happy for the two of them!
